What she likes about it is the hour after the bars thin out and the way the canals go still. Italian is her first language and her English has kept some of its rhythm, which slows a conversation down in a useful direction. Warm without performing the warmth. Two hours in a hotel room suits her as well as an evening that starts at a restaurant and carries on from there. On WhatsApp, naming Grace, the hotel, the room number, the hour and how long. If the hotel is at the airport, say so.
If she is free for that hour we come back with a time. If she is not, we say so rather than sending somebody else in her place.
Payment on arrival: cash in any major currency at the day's rate, card, or crypto. The hour starts when the door closes.
