Outcall to an airport hotel

Outcall means the therapist is the one who travels, to a room near the runways or in central Amsterdam, since the house has no premises anywhere.

A passenger between flights cannot go anywhere, and outcall is built around that fact. The word describes which side of a booking moves. Here it is always the therapist: she leaves from wherever she is, crosses to the address given in the thread, and knocks. The client stays put, which for someone with a boarding pass in a jacket pocket and a suitcase half unpacked is usually the only arrangement that works.

No lobby of ours to find

The house runs forty-five therapists and no studio. There is no reception room near the terminal, no flat kept in town, nothing a traveller could take a taxi to even with hours in hand. That is deliberate. A premises would mean a second journey through an unfamiliar country at night, with passport, phone battery and wake-up alarm all in play, and then a journey back. Outcall removes both legs. The door you opened at check-in is the only door involved.

Two kinds of address

Addresses fall into two groups, and what separates them is timing rather than price. Central Amsterdam runs on a single clock: forty to sixty minutes from confirmation, whichever central neighbourhood the room is in. Schiphol and the hotels spread around it are served by arrangement, with the hour agreed in writing and half the fee sent ahead, because the drive out to the airport is planned before she leaves rather than improvised. The airport hotel belt entry describes that ring of buildings. Nothing beyond the city and the airport's own hotels is reached.

The fee carries no travel line. An hour in a room beside the terminal costs what an hour costs by a canal, as the price page shows, and neither a four in the morning start nor a Sunday adds to it. What outcall asks of a traveller is small: an accurate room number, a phone left switched on and within reach, plus a line in the message if the hotel locks its lifts after dark. The booking page lists what a first message should hold.
